At Rhythm Medicity, every patient is a partner in their own care. Understanding your rights protects you — and knowing your responsibilities helps us deliver the best possible treatment.
We believe informed patients make better decisions — and better decisions lead to better outcomes.
This document outlines the rights you are entitled to as a patient at Rhythm Medicity, and the responsibilities we ask of you so our clinical teams can provide safe, effective, and dignified care at all times.
Section 01
As a patient at Rhythm Medicity, you have the right to expect the following at all times during your care with us.
You have the right to receive care that is considerate, respectful, and mindful of your personal values, beliefs, and cultural background — without discrimination of any kind based on age, gender, religion, caste, or socioeconomic status.
You have the right to receive complete, accurate, and understandable information about your diagnosis, the nature of your illness, proposed treatment plans, expected outcomes, and any significant risks — in a language you can understand.
You have the right to give or withhold consent before any procedure, surgery, or treatment is performed. You may ask as many questions as you need before signing a consent form. In emergency situations where consent cannot be obtained, treatment will be provided in your best interest.
Your medical records, diagnosis, and personal information are strictly confidential. They will not be shared with any third party without your explicit consent, except where required by law or in situations involving risk to public health.
You have the right to seek a second medical opinion — from within our hospital or from an outside specialist — at any point during your treatment. Your care team will assist you in facilitating this without affecting the quality of your ongoing treatment.
You have the right to refuse any treatment or procedure to the extent permitted by law. Your care team will explain the potential consequences of refusal so you can make a fully informed decision. A signed refusal form will be required.
You have the right to know the names, designations, and roles of all doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals involved in your treatment at any point during your hospital stay.
You have the right to receive care that meets established medical standards of quality and safety — in a clean, hygienic, and safe clinical environment at all times.
You have the right to access your medical records, investigation reports, prescriptions, and discharge summaries. Copies may be requested from the Medical Records Department during prescribed hours, subject to applicable fees.
You have the right to express concerns, grievances, or complaints about your care without fear of reprisal. Complaints may be directed to the Patient Relations Officer at the hospital. All complaints will be acknowledged and addressed within a reasonable timeframe.
Section 02
To help our teams provide you with the safest and most effective care, we ask that you observe the following responsibilities during your time at Rhythm Medicity.
Share complete and accurate information about your medical history, current medications, allergies, past surgeries, and any other health conditions. Incomplete information can compromise your safety and the effectiveness of your treatment.
Follow the treatment plan, medications, and instructions prescribed by your care team. If you have concerns about your treatment or are unable to follow a recommendation, inform your doctor immediately rather than stopping on your own.
Treat all hospital staff, doctors, nurses, and fellow patients with respect and courtesy. Any form of verbal or physical abuse towards staff or other patients will not be tolerated and may result in discharge.
Arrive on time for all scheduled appointments, procedures, and follow-ups. If you are unable to attend, please inform us at least 24 hours in advance so your slot can be given to another patient in need.
Adhere to visiting hours, noise policies, no-smoking rules, and other hospital guidelines. These exist to protect the safety, comfort, and recovery of all patients within our care.
You are responsible for timely payment of all hospital bills and charges as per the agreed payment plan. For insurance patients, please ensure all necessary authorisation and documents are submitted on time to avoid delays in treatment.
Rhythm Medicity is not responsible for loss or damage to personal valuables. We advise patients not to bring large sums of cash, jewellery, or unnecessary personal items during their hospital stay.
If you do not understand any aspect of your diagnosis, treatment, or discharge instructions — ask. Your care team is here to help you. Never leave with unanswered questions about your own health.
Section 03
To ensure the rest and recovery of all patients, we request all visitors to observe the following guidelines.
